Recent Graduates of The IUFoST skills training program addressing needs of food industry workers in Sub-Saharan Africa are pictured as they receive their certificates. This program has proven to be effective and it is particularly important in an area where food losses are high and food safety and security are major concerns.
Participants from numerous African countries have completed modules related to Food Safety and Hygiene, Introduction to HACCP, Food Dehydration, and Food Packaging, to date. Based on the initial success of the distance-assisted program, which features local mentors, the courses will be made available on a worldwide basis.
